How credits work
- One credit sends one page to one fax number, to any of the 17 countries FaxBuddy faxes. A page to Germany or Japan costs the same as a page across town.
- Your first page is free, once per iPhone, without buying anything.
- Cover pages are always free. Add a note and who it’s from at no cost.
- Credits never expire. Buy 10, send 3 today, and the other 7 wait for as long as it takes.
- You see the cost before you send. The Send button says how many credits the fax uses. If you don’t have enough, FaxBuddy offers the smallest pack that covers it and sends straight after you pay.
What a fax costs
| You send | Credits | Cheapest way (US prices) |
|---|---|---|
| A 1-page form, your first fax | 0 | Free |
| A 3-page form with a cover page | 3 | 5-page pack, $3.99, 2 credits left |
| The same 4 pages to 2 offices | 8 | 10-page pack, $5.99, 2 credits left |
| A 12-page lease to Germany | 12 | 25-page pack, $11.99, 13 credits left |
When credits come back
- The fax isn’t delivered. Busy line, no answer, a person or voicemail instead of a fax machine, or a number that can’t be reached: the credits return to your balance automatically, and you can retry with one tap.
- You cancel a scheduled fax before it’s sent.
- Something goes wrong on our side and the fax can’t be sent: it’s marked as failed and refunded.
A fax counts as delivered only when the receiving machine confirms every page. Money for a purchase is refunded through Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com; credits Apple refunds are removed from your balance.
Taxes and currencies
The App Store sets the price in your country. In the US and Canada, prices are before sales tax, which may be added at checkout; in the euro countries they include VAT, and in Japan consumption tax. The app always shows the App Store’s price before you buy.
Compared with a subscription
Most fax apps charge a weekly or monthly subscription, often after a free trial that renews on its own. If you fax a few times a year, a pack of pages is far cheaper: 10 pages cost $5.99 once, where a weekly plan elsewhere costs $6.99 to $9.99 every week until you cancel.
