- No subscription. Buy pages when you need them; they never expire. Nothing renews, nothing to cancel.
- Your first page is free, and cover pages are always free.
- A failed fax costs nothing. A fax counts as delivered when the receiving fax machine confirms every page. If it doesn’t (busy line, no answer, not a fax machine), the credits come back automatically.
- No sign-up. No email, no password, no account to make.
- Your documents are deleted from our servers within 24 hours after the fax is delivered or fails.
- One price to every country we fax: the US, Canada, Germany, Japan, the UK and 12 more.
Why FaxBuddy
Subscriptions are the expensive part of faxing
Most fax apps are built around a plan: a weekly or monthly subscription, often starting as a free trial that renews on its own. That makes sense if you fax every day. If you fax a form twice a year, you pay for months you don’t use, or pay $9.99 for a week of “unlimited” to send three pages. In FaxBuddy, 10 pages cost $5.99 once, and the credits wait for your next fax for as long as it takes.
A failed fax costs nothing
Fax lines are busy, offices switch machines off, and phone numbers get mistaken for fax numbers. FaxBuddy tells you why in plain words and gives the credits back by itself. Not every service does: Fax.Plus’s help centre says a failed fax can still be charged if the call connected.
Built for the form you have to send today
Scan the pages with the camera, or share a PDF from Mail, Safari or Files. Sign a scanned form with your finger. FaxBuddy spots the fax number printed on the form and offers it with one tap. Add a free cover page, send now or schedule it, and follow it live until it’s delivered, with a receipt to share.
Private by default
No sign-up, no ads and no tracking. Your fax history stays on your iPhone, and the documents are deleted from our servers within 24 hours after sending, instead of sitting in a cloud archive.
Pay when you send, or pay every month
Most fax apps want a subscription. FaxBuddy lets you buy credits only when you need them. Some apps charge every week or month; others let you pay only when you send.

Need to fax a document just once?
In FaxBuddy you buy a page pack, send, and that’s it: no plan to start, nothing to remember to cancel, and the pages you don’t use wait for next time. With a subscription app you usually start a weekly or monthly plan and have to cancel it before it renews.
Faxing every week, or need to receive?
Then a subscription can work out cheaper per page, and it comes with a fax number for receiving, which FaxBuddy doesn’t offer. Fax.Plus and the unlimited plans below are built for that.
| App | How you pay | Plan compared | Failed fax | Receives |
|---|---|---|---|---|

How the others compare
Genius Fax
The other no-subscription app: one credit per page, the same price abroad, a free cover page. FaxBuddy gives you the first page free and 10 pages for $5.99 against $6.99, refunds failed faxes automatically (Genius Fax’s listing doesn’t say it does), and needs no account. Fax.Plus
A full online fax service with plans, fax numbers and team features, built for people who fax every month. After the free plan’s 10 pages, it’s a plan from $8.99 a month in the App Store that renews until you cancel, and a failed fax can still be charged. For a fax now and then, FaxBuddy costs less and nothing renews. Pricing · FaxBuddy vs Fax.Plus
iFax
Subscription-first: the main plan starts as a 7-day free trial that turns into a paid plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The listing’s description ($27.99 a month) and its purchase list ($24.99) don’t even agree on the price. App Store listing
FAX from iPhone (Municorn)
Subscription only: $9.99 a week, $29.99 a month or $249.99 a year for unlimited pages. Good value for heavy faxing; a lot to pay for one form. App Store listing
FaxBurner
5 free pages to send in total, then a subscription from $12.99 a month, and it only faxes the US and Canada. App Store listing
Tiny Fax
Weekly, monthly and yearly “unlimited” plans, plus credit packs whose listing doesn’t say how many credits a page costs. App Store listing
When another app fits better
- You need to receive faxes. FaxBuddy sends only. For a fax number, look at Fax.Plus, or Genius Fax’s number subscription.
- You fax dozens of pages every week. A subscription’s page allowance will cost less per page.
- You fax outside our 17 countries, or you need it before FaxBuddy is on the App Store.
What to check before you pay
- Free trials that renew. Several apps start a weekly or monthly subscription after the trial. Note the date, or turn auto-renew off in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Weekly plans. Fine for one urgent fax if you cancel straight away; expensive if forgotten.
- Failed faxes. Ask whether a busy or wrong number still costs you. In FaxBuddy it doesn’t.
- International pages. Some services charge more for some countries. FaxBuddy charges one credit a page to all 17.
