How to cancel a fax app subscription on iPhone

Signed up for a fax app to send one document, and it’s still charging you every week? Here’s how to stop it, whichever app it is.

Cancel in Settings

Subscriptions bought in the App Store are cancelled in your iPhone’s Settings, not in the app. Apple’s steps:

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions, then the fax app (Tiny Fax, iFax, FAX from iPhone, Fax.Plus, FaxBurner or another).
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription, scrolling down if needed, and confirm.

If there’s no Cancel button, or you see an expiration date in red, the subscription is already cancelled. You can keep using what you paid for until the end of the current period.

Good to know

  • Deleting the app doesn’t cancel the subscription. It keeps renewing until you cancel it in Settings.
  • Trials: to avoid the first charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, as Apple advises.
  • Don’t see it in the list? Search your email for “receipt from Apple” and check which Apple Account it was charged to. If there’s no Apple receipt, the app charged you directly, on its website: cancel in your account there or contact the company.
  • Want money back? Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides App Store refunds.

The fax app subscriptions you might find

What the popular fax apps sell, as listed on the US App Store on 22 October 2026, so you can recognise the line in your Subscriptions list:

  • Tiny Fax: unlimited plans by the week ($6.99), month ($19.99) or year ($79.99), a weekly send plan ($4.99), and receive plans.
  • FAX from iPhone (Municorn): unlimited send and receive by the week ($9.99), month ($29.99) or year ($249.99).
  • iFax: a monthly plan that starts as a 7-day free trial ($24.99 a month after it), plus weekly and monthly send-only plans.
  • Fax.Plus: Basic, Premium and Business plans, monthly or yearly. If you subscribed on fax.plus rather than in the app, cancel in your account on their website.
  • FaxBurner: monthly ($12.99) or yearly ($99.99).

Asking Apple for a refund

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account that was charged.
  2. Choose Request a refund, pick the reason that fits (for example, you didn’t mean to subscribe or renew), and select the purchase.
  3. Submit. Apple decides and usually replies by email; the app’s developer can’t refund App Store purchases for you.

Cancel the subscription first, so a refund for one period isn’t followed by the next renewal.

Cancelling on an iPad or Mac

Subscriptions follow your Apple Account, so you can cancel from any of your devices: on an iPad the steps are the same as on iPhone; on a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings, and find Subscriptions.

Next time: pay per page

If you fax a few times a year, you don’t need a plan at all. In FaxBuddy you buy pages when you need them: your first page is free, 10 pages cost $5.99 once, credits never expire, and a fax that fails costs nothing. There’s nothing to cancel, ever. Fax apps without a subscription.

Questions

Does deleting a fax app cancel the subscription?

No. Cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

You can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides; cancelling only stops future renewals.

Is there a fax app with nothing to cancel?

Yes. FaxBuddy has no subscription: you buy page packs when you need them, and nothing renews.
